At ONS 2024 in Stavanger, the Xplore North pavilion became a focal point for discussions on the critical role of space technology in modern industries, particularly energy. Prominent space organizations such as Spaceport Norway, Nåva Space, NASA Hunch Norway, KSAT, and the Norwegian Space Cluster led several talks, panels, and meetings that aimed to raise awareness about the strategic importance of space infrastructure.

These sessions highlighted how satellite technology, Earth observation, and space-based systems are increasingly essential for energy management, especially in challenging environments like the Arctic. The organizations discussed practical applications of space technology in monitoring and optimizing energy resources, disaster management, and enhancing the efficiency of renewable energy sources.

One of the key announcements was the upcoming satellite launches from Andøya in Nordland, which will make Norway the only country in geographical Europe with orbital launch capabilities. This development is expected to be a game-changer, positioning Norway at the forefront of European space innovation and contributing to advancements in both space and energy sectors.

NASA Hunch Nowray and Corporate Communication facilitated a panel discussion about the value space creates for other sectors. The participation of these organizations at ONS 2024 reinforced the message that space technology is no longer a niche sector but a vital part of broader industrial and environmental strategies. The event successfully connected space innovation with the energy sector, highlighting new opportunities for collaboration and growth. We expect to attend future ONS events with even more impact.
