Our story in brief

2016: Announcing Spaceport Norway at IAC

Guadalajara, Mexico

Kindly invited and supported by International Astronautical Federation, Spaceport Norway was announced  for 500+ people at the Global Business Forum at IAC 2016.

A new business oriented conference, positioning space technology, infrastructure and services as a platform for sustainability, business development and innovation, was our mission.

The feedback from the audience was great – countdown for our first conference started.

2019: resources (new city, new venue)

Trondheim, Norway

We left Stavanger and arranged the third Spaceport Norway conference  at Clarion Hotel & Congress in Trondheim – the third largest city in Norway and home of many major technology companies, a fast growing tech startup-scene, cutting edge research institutions and over 30.000 students!

The program focused on RESOURCES. How we can extract, use and manage them better and in a more sustainable way. On earth….and on other celestial bodies.

Robots, drones and rovers. Sensors and big data analytics. Waterless processing and efficient energy management. Artificial intelligence and remote & autonomous operations. Harsh environments from deep sea to outer space. We are going back to the moon – to stay. We need robust solutions!

It was the most successful Spaceport Norway conference to date, much thanks to over 70 sponsored students that brought dynamics and energy to the arena, the new and progressive start-ups, the great support from Norwegian Space Agency, European Space Agency, our sponsors and all our great speakers.

Over 290 delegates participated  in Spaceport Norway 2019, 60% of them from outside of Norway.

2020: Finally in Oslo!
But then the pandemic hit us...

Oslo, Norway

After a successful third year, we were getting ready to finally come to Oslo. Sponsors were on board, the first tickets got really early, the program development was in good progress…then Covid-19 happened. We could not move forward.

We were forced to postpone* the next planned major event two times.

*All sponsor packages and tickets for 2020 will be valid for the next major Spaceport Norway event, planned in 2022
