Elise Wright Knutsen
Researcher
UiO, CENSSS
Dr Elise Wright Knutsen has a master’s degree in physics from NTNU, specializing in atmospheric physics and space weather. After completing her degree, she spent one year searching for signs of life at Mars, working at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center as part of the science team for the European ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter. She obtained her PhD from Paris-Saclay University, working at LATMOS in Paris studying the Martian atmosphere. Elise is now working as a postdoc at UiO, at the Department for Technology Systems as part of the Center for Space Sensors and Systems. She is the project manager and science lead of the first satellite developed at UiO, which will study how different solar storms influences the Earth’s atmosphere.
