Tomas Norvoll is a State Secretary in the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries, with a long-standing commitment to public service and regional development. Born and raised on Andøya, home to the new Andøya Spaceport, Norvoll has been a staunch advocate for the growth and development of Norway’s space sector. Andøya Spaceport is soon set to launch satellites into orbit, marking a significant step forward for Norway in space exploration and industry.Before his current role, Norvoll served as the County Mayor of Nordland and has been a member of the Norwegian Parliament (Stortinget), representing the Labour Party. His focus on economic development, innovation, and sustainability—particularly in Northern Norway—has helped shape key regional initiatives. In his role as State Secretary, he actively contributes to shaping Norway’s industrial, trade, and fisheries policies, emphasizing the strategic importance of space, Arctic, and maritime industries.
